COLLATERAL DAMAGE
By Robert G. Leclair

                                                                                  Don’t Overlook the Role of Non-profit Organizations…

Radical feminists and leaders of two major nonprofit organizations campaigned vigorously for the authorization of VAWA and OVW and succeeded in 1994.  In
1998, the same cast of characters championed the cause to prevent Bill Clinton’s impeachment and removal from the office of the Presidency because of his
and Hillary’s staunch support for the feminist movement and they succeeded.  The net result was the hijacking of VAWA and OVW to implement a radical
ideology.  Congress and Senate members were duped by the stated goal of VAWA “prevents violence against Women” a goal that nobody disputes.
Unfortunately, the devil was in the approach and details as well as what the radical feminist ideology and agenda were all about.

A major nonprofit that campaigned and supported VAWA was “Futures Without Violence” (formerly Family Violence Prevention Fund) founded by Esta Soler and
supported by federal grants.  This nonprofit has been funded for over 2 decades by OVW (
see financial report).

Another major nonprofit “Safe Horizons” (formerly Victim Services Agency) is led by Liz Roberts, deputy CEO and chief program officer.  She stated “Between
1993 and 2010, domestic violence among adult women in the United States has gone down by 64 percent, and that is great news.”  Former VP Biden seems to
be clueless and evidently did not get Liz’s message, every year since 1993 he pontificates that domestic violence is an epidemic and possibly even a
pandemic.  Safe Horizons has also been funded by OVW for over 2 decades (
see financial report).

One more biggie is Catherine A. MacKinnon Advisor to UN Women’s Executive coordinator and Spokesperson on sexual harassment, a radical feminist legal
scholar, discusses social inequality.  OVW advocates stated when originally trying to start IVAWA that no extra money would be needed for this venture even
though IVAWA has not passed yet, the hidden cost in 2018 is HUGE.

Fallout of nonprofits spawned by OVW…
OVW has spawned a vast number of nonprofits throughout the U.S. and has been very generous with its grants.  Most have been groomed to follow the ideology
espoused by VAWA without knowing what that ideology comprises nor what approach is used to achieve the goal of protecting women against violence and
abuse.

We also believe that most members of those nonprofits are sincere, dedicated and vigorously pursue the main goal of protecting women.  The only “fly in the
ointment” is the over-zealous leadership who forgets the lessons of history and pursues failed policies and programs.

The real danger is money and power and its role in the war against domestic violence.  The federal agency OVW is bankrolled with a huge amount of tax dollars
and a great deal of power such that any individuals or groups who disagree with its approach or policies cannot sustain any opposition or voice their opinion
even when equipped with evidence.  The sheer numbers (over 5000 and still counting) of nonprofits in the U.S. have shown that any opposition can be quickly
and decisively squelched without any discussion whatsoever.

You will be able to view the power and financial influence of OVW and affiliated nonprofit organizations in action during the coming event of the “2019
reauthorization of VAWA” discussions and debate.  Any opposition will be quickly and decisively squelched as predicted.
