UNPARALLELED POLITICAL POWER AND FUNDING
By Robert G. Leclair

VAWA/OVW has become such a politically entrenched powerhouse and so extremely funded that any opposition and/or constructive criticism can be
immediately squelched with little or no response.  OVW directly or indirectly funds more than five thousand nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. that can
readily access the media and reporters to silence differing opinions and ideas.  This lopsided support for VAWA is clearly apparent if you read the support
discussions to reauthorize VAWA 2019 versus any opposing or differing views.

For the past two years we have witnessed so much social and political bullying that even politicians who care are silenced.  The evidence is clear and
convincing if you analyze the discussions and pros/cons already voiced to authorize the 2019 Violence Against Women Act or try to make sense of the political
wrangling, the #MeToo movement and the differing views of Republicans and Democrats on our Constitution’s due process.

If only in 1994 men and women had opted for a “Cease Fire” ˡ, authorized and fully funded a “Violence Against Children Act” rather than a misguided and
radical VAWA and established solutions that truly protected women from violence and abuse, prevented fatherlessness, reconnected with God to restore
family values and finally, averted a gender war as the legacy for our children.  Do not forget the lives and wellbeing of millions of children are at stake in a
gender war.  Especially a war that was politically motivated when radical feminists hijacked VAWA and implemented their ideology.

The evidence shown herein is not a ploy to denigrate or demean women.  It is included to show that VAWA is hypocritical by hiding the fact that women are just
as capable of maltreatment, violence, and abuse as men and for not taking that factor into consideration to formulate solutions to end domestic violence.
Ignoring this factor resulted in far more children being exploited and abandoned, millions more than just the children suffering from the collateral damage of
false accusation or a misguided perception that is not based on reality.  The radical feminist leaders are responsible for the deception and for misleading the
public.  Congress and all the dedicated volunteers in OVW that have been duped into assuming that the war on domestic violence is successful and under
control.  Nobody disputes the goal that violence and abuse of women must be eradicated, but it is the approach implemented by the radicals for several
decades that have lulled everyone into a false sense of security and the false perception that the solutions implemented are successful.

Congress has lost its moral compass and needs to get back to its due diligence.  Congress needs to reassess the current attacks on our democracy, its
values, and the misguided influence of the proposed 2019 reauthorization of VAWA/OVW.  You may find that years of rubber stamping VAWA has corrupted
its goals and approach and has squelched any constructive opposition.  The real losers are the women who are lulled into a false sense of security and
children who suffer from abandonment and betrayal.

I urge every member of Congress and the Senate to discreetly test yourselves.  Check the upcoming reauthorization of VAWA pros and cons submitted by
individuals and organizations.  Evaluate a specific organization called “National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence” and its documents in
support of VAWA 2020 and determine who prepared the documents.  Find out if you are fully or barely knowledgeable or simply clueless as to VAWA/OVW, a
federal agency under your purview.
